The new, dark A&E television series Bates Motel is a prequel to the classic Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho. The prequel is set in contemporary times and tells the story of Norma Bates, her teen age son Norman and the outcast, oldest son Dylan who seems to be the most stable of the three.
