Grey's Anatomy (2005)

Lucifer (2015)

Based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg, this series follows Lucifer, the original fallen angel, who has become dissatisfied with his life in hell. After abandoning his throne and retiring to Los Angeles, Lucifer indulges in his favorite things (women, wine and song) -- until a murder takes place outside of his upscale nightclub. Animal Kingdom (2016)

After a heroin overdose kills his mom, teenager Joshua "J" Cody moves to Southern California to live with his freewheeling relatives. The family's matriarch is J's estranged grandmother, Janine "Smurf" Cody, from whom he's been shielded for years. J soon finds out the reason for the isolation -- Smurf and "her boys" make their livings through carefully planned armed robberies and other criminal activities. Prominent perpetrators include Smurf's three sons: mentally disturbed ex-con Pope, hyperactive drug user Craig, and suspicious Deran. In order to stay alive, J must prove loyal to his beguiling grandmother, who rules with a borderline-incestuous love.

One of the definitive shows of the 1990s, "90210" originally follows the lives of Brandon and Brenda Walsh, who both eventually leave the show, and their friends through high school and college into adulthood. In addition to making sideburns momentarily cool again during its run, the show deals with a steady stream of love triangles and other romantic entanglements, and occasionally touches on more serious issues as well.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir (2015)

Marinette seems to be a normal teenage girl -- she dreams of becoming a fashion designer, is a bit awkward and has a crush on a classmate. But she has a secret other teenagers don't have -- she lives a double life as a crime-fighting superhero known as Ladybug. She uses her superpowers to help protect her native Paris from supervillain Hawk Moth. She is assisted, reluctantly, by fellow hero Cat Noir, even though she insists she doesn't need him -- a stance she might not take if she knew his alter ego is her crush, Adrien. Together, Ladybug and Cat Noir help keep Paris safe from Hawk Moth and other villains.

Vikings (2013)

Viking Ragnar Lothbrok is a young farmer and family man who is frustrated by the policies of Earl Haraldson, his local chieftain who sends his Viking raiders east to the Baltic states and Russia, whose residents are as poor as the Norsemen. Ragnar wants to head west, across the ocean, to discover new civilizations. With assistance from his friend Floki, Ragnar builds a faster, sleeker fleet of boats to help him make it to the Western world. Through the years Ragnar, who claims to be a direct descendant of the god Odin, continues to struggle with Earl until the two face each other in a final battle for supremacy. Following that, Ragnar goes on a search for new lands to conquer.

One Punch Man (2015)

Superheroes often have exciting superpowers that help them defeat the evil villains that they battle, but that's not necessarily the case for Saitama. Although he's a superhuman, his power isn't as exciting as X-ray vision or invincibility -- instead, he has the ability to defeat any opponent with a single punch, and this power has both pros and cons. The biggest advantage is that it makes it easy for him to defeat enemies -- which is essential because he lives in an alternate Japan that is constantly under attack by monsters -- but because it doesn't take long to throw a punch, easily vanquishing his foes leads to constant boredom.

SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)

A square yellow sponge named SpongeBob SquarePants lives in a pineapple with his pet snail, Gary, in the city of Bikini Bottom on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. During his time off, SpongeBob has a knack for attracting trouble with his starfish best friend, Patrick. Arrogant octopus Squidward Tentacles, SpongeBob's neighbor, dislikes SpongeBob because of his childlike behavior.

In this dating series that uses modern technology to help people find love, 20-plus single men and women try to find their perfect mates. A dating algorithm is used to help quantify compatibility, using a process that includes in-depth interviews, questionnaires and compatibility testing. That data is used to identify the ideal pairs among the participants. But the results are kept a secret from the singles, who get to know one another socially and undergo weekly tests to try to pick their ideal mates while living together. If the mates they choose do not match that of the data, they must start their search over. If all of the singles are able to match up with their predetermined partners, they share the largest cash prize ever awarded by an MTV show and walk away with a potential partner for life.

The cart comes way before the horse in the reality series "Married at First Sight." Specialists -- including a spiritualist, a relationship coach and a sociologist -- use scientific matchmaking methods to determine each couple, who will not have met or had contact with each other until the wedding day. The series then documents the relationships, including honeymoons and other relatable events of married life. After several weeks, each couple must decide whether to remain together or go their individual ways.

Despite his shortcomings, Steven usually finds a surprising way to save the day.

Jerry Springer (1991)

Tasteless talk shows come and go, but one magazine declared this long-running daytime chatfest "the worst show in the history of television." Loaded with bleeped profanity and guests who aren't afraid to embarrass themselves on national TV, "Jerry Springer" features a host who is the anti-Oprah, aiming his show squarely at viewers who rubberneck at traffic accidents. The former Cincinnati mayor must be doing something right because the show celebrates its milestone 25th season.

Celebrity guests appear on some episodes to help test the vehicles. Things don't always go as planned, though, with broken bones and mechanical mishaps sometimes part of the experiments. Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May hosted the show for more than a decade before giving way to a new crew in 2016, including automotive journalists Chris Harris.

Call the Midwife (2012)

Adapted by Heidi Thomas from the best-selling memoirs of Jennifer Worth, this drama series is a moving, funny, colorful look at midwifery and family in 1950s East End London. It follows newly qualified midwife Jenny, who joins an eccentric, lovable community of nuns who are nurses at Nonnatus House. Jenny is surprised to find herself at a convent -- she thought she was being sent to a small private hospital -- and is initially daunted by her surroundings, most notably the formidable Sister Evangelina and the unconventional Sister Monica Joan. But Jenny gradually begins to find her way and develops incredible friendships among the nurses, as they are drawn into the lives and homes of the women and families they treat.

Maury (1998)

Veteran TV journalist Maury Povich -- yes, he began his TV career as a news anchor -- tackles volatile issues with his guests and studio audience on this daily, hourlong talk show. Known widely for offering guests the chance to take DNA tests to prove or disprove paternity -- usually with guests breaking out in tears of joy or sorrow -- Povich's show also frequently utilizes lie-detector tests. Cheaters and out-of-control teens are often featured on the show, and episodes occasionally focus on outrageous moments that have been captured on video.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show (2003)

This talk-variety show features comic Ellen DeGeneres in the studio performing an opening monologue and interviewing guests who include celebrities, newsmakers and ordinary people with extraordinary talents. Additionally, segments include performances from top music acts, audience participation and man-on-the-street interviews. Music is a key part of the show, with an in-studio DJ -- including occasional celebrity guest DJs -- spinning tunes and DeGeneres often breaking out into dance moves during the show.

Jeopardy! (1984)

"Jeopardy!" is a classic game show -- with a twist. The answers are given first, and the contestants supply the questions. Three contestants, including the previous show's champion, compete in six categories and in three rounds (with each round's "answers" being worth more prize money). In the third round, "Final Jeopardy," the contestants can name their own jackpot -- as long as it's within the amount of money they've already earned. If a player finishes the second round with zero dollars, they are eliminated from "Final Jeopardy." The first version of "Jeopardy!," which aired from 1964 to 1975 on NBC, was hosted by Art Fleming. Alex Trebek is the current host; he began with the program in 1984 (at the start of its syndicated run).
