Synopsis
In this fact-based film, Jean Harris (Ellen Burstyn) stands accused of the murder of Dr. Herman Tarnowner, a celebrity cardiologist best known as the author of "The Complete Scarsdale Medical Diet." Aided by defense attorney Joel Aurnou (Martin Balsam), Harris -- hoping to gain the mercy of the court at her sentencing -- details the sordid events leading up the killing. Meanwhile, prosecuting attorney George Bolen (Peter Coyote) pumps up the case for the state.
